Note | possibly b Ireland, Scotland, or PA Private Soldier in the American Revolution in the 5th Co., 3rd Batallion, Cumberland county, on duty March 1781 and in Captain Thomas Laird's company, 3rd Batallion, Cumberland county, in 1781. In Captain James Crawford's Company payroll for service up to June 1781. Samuel McTeer is credited with drawing depreciation pay in Cumberland County to compensate him for the difference between the value of Continental money and specie. Samuel McTeer was a Ranger on the Frontier between the years 1778 and 1783 from Cumberland county. |
