Note	Union soldier. Enlisted as a Private on 24 September 1863. Drafted into Company D, 52nd Infantry Regiment Pennsylvania on 24 Sep 1863. Promoted to Full Corporal on 27 May 1865. Discharged from Company D, 52nd Infantry Regiment Pennsylvania on 12 Jul 1865.
Note	The Indiana Progress, August 17, 1887: Mr John Taubler died at his home near Friday last (12 AUG). His remains were interred in cemetery here on Sabbath (13 AUG) afternoon. Mr Taubler was a member of the G A of this place which together with the ... of ... and K of ... attended the funeral hi ... a body...
