VA.<p> From the will acccording to GS Fiche #6049227 There is a child Jane and there is no child Isan or Ivan; I have included both children until I determine which is accurate. Sgt. Edmund Terrell (1740-1784) enlisted, 1777, for three years in Capt. John Steed's Company of VA militia, serving as sergeant. Sgt. 2 VA Brigade y CL,10 CL IP. DAR No. 81 136 Margaret d. 1812 DAR No. 76 552 SEND FOR DAR INFORMATION CL Preceded by a numeral: the 15 Virginia Regiments of the Continental Line. IP: The Illinois Papers. A collection of rolls of militia and regulars in the Ill Dept., now in the State Library, indexed in the State Archives. Birthdate: Contributed by George B. Loeffler, 3033 East Whitton, Phoenix, AZ 85016, from Cornelius Bible Records- in possession of a descendant of Edward Graves Cornelius. From John Terrill Waylalnd,Jr., on GenForum 8/24/98 I have the complete record of his service in the Revolutionary War from official company muster rolls and pay rolls, copies from the National Archives. Enlisted on 27 Jan, 1777, ran, ans Sgt., in Capt. John Gillison's company. Serged in battles of Guilford court House in N.C. in 1781, and in Hobkirk's Hill Battle. Muster rolls show him at Valley Forge throughout the terrible winter there. Discharged from 3 year enlistment in March of 1780. His will is found in @.B.C.p.91, Culpeper Col, Va., 1 Jun 1784-15 Nov 1784. He also is listed as having served in Capt. John Steed's company, 2nd VA Brigade as per "Virginians in the Revolution", p.764, by Gwatmey.
