| Note | George Wilhelm Berger was born in Dierdorf Germany and immigrated on the Aurora in 1744 with two sons, John Christian and Herber, and a daughter, Anna Juliana. He bought land in what is now Bern Township, which he later sold to his son John Christian, and bought land in what is now Upper Tulpehocken, which he bequeathed to his son Herber. The land in Upper Tulpehocken remained in the possession of our Berger line until the death of Emanuel Berger in 1907, at which time it was purchased by Emanuel's son George. George Wilhelm's wife, Anna Catharina, died in Germany in 1741. George Wilhelm's will references children Herber, Anna Juliana and John Christian. Tax records show George Wilhelm was a wheelwright and a farmer. |
